Celebrate Islamic History Month this October, by experiencing the vibrancy, diversity, and innovation of Islamic cultural heritage! Join us for a free, celebration of Islamic cultural heritage, featuring exhibitors, food, vendors, performances, and speakers!
- See historic Mecca, with a virtual reality tour by ISNA Canada ($5 per viewing)
- Explore local vendors and Islamic organizations
- Henna artists
- Face painting
- Keynote address, spoken word, and oud performances from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

3:00 p.m. - 3:10 p.m.: Opening remarks
3:10 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Keynote speaker Dr. Omar Patel, Founder Canadian Muslim Counselling services
3:30 p.m. - 3:40 p.m.: Oud performance by Manar Naeem

Omar Patel – MPS, RP
Imam Omar Patel completed his formal Islamic education in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic and Islamic Studies ar a semianry in South Africa. Upon returning to Canada, he pursued his Master of Pastoral Studies with a specialization in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto.
In 2015, Imam Omar began his service as a Muslim Chaplain at the University of Toronto. He has complemented his studies in Psychotherapy with certification from the Toronto Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. Thereafter, he has been working extensively with communities across Canada to increase mental health awareness and trailblazing efforts to provide solutions within the Muslim community. Imam Omar’s professional interests include the integration of Islamic sciences with mental health care. His clinical experience includes working with adolescents, couples, and families to overcome various mental health and relationship concerns.
