Support, celebrate and learn with us at Schneider Haus on Indigenous Peoples Day! On June 21st we will be gathering for an outdoor community-based event showcasing Spirit Nation Youth Drumming, a talk about drums with Scott Norton, an Indigenous Community vendor market, and Indigenous Organizations information fair where you can learn about vital Indigenous organizations in our community. While you’re here enjoy some corn soup or one of our Pride cookies.
This event is for all ages and will include children's activities! We encourage you to join us with your lawn chairs and hand drums from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. for this amazing community celebration! All are welcome!
This event is a safe space for everyone, of all ages, races, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. Please note that discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
Indigenous Peoples Day Itinerary
- 11 a.m. to noon - Opening: Spirit Nation Youth Drum and Featured Dancers
- Noon to 1 p.m. - Corn Soup Served in the Wash house (while quantities last)
- 1 p.m. - Community Hand Drumming and Singing (Everyone welcome to join)
- 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Drum Talk with Scott Norton
- 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Spirit Nation Youth Drum and Featured Dancers
- 2:30 to 3 p.m. - Community Hand Drumming and Singing (Everyone welcome to join)
- 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Spirit Nation Youth Drum and Featured Dancers
