Free admission for up to two children ages 5 – 12 with each $11 adult admission

The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is throwing a summer party and all kids are invited!  KidSummer is a fun family day where kids of all ages can have some good old fashioned fun. Try your hand at the gallery activities and games and enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride! In addition to the daily activities, you can have even more fun by picking up an “Adventure Through Time” activity booklet, and exploring the Village and galleries in a whole new way!

Receive your activity booklet at the front desk and see how many fun activities you can enjoy.

Wagon Ride Schedule

Saturday - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday - 1 to 4 p.m.
Monday  - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Weekend Daily Activities

Saturday

10 a.m. S-hooks - Make an S hook at the Blacksmith Shop. Participants must be over 102 cm or 40 inches tall.

10:30 a.m. Conestoga Wagon - Learn about the journey of those who travelled on the Conestoga Wagon. Best for ages 3 and up. 

11 a.m. Egg Grading - Help gather and grade eggs at the Martin House. Best for ages 5 and up. 

11:30 a.m. Fly in the Sky – Have you ever wondered what keeps an airplane up in the sky? Join us to find out, and to try flying your own paper creations. Best for ages 6 and up.

12 p.m. Harnessing Demonstration - Help get the horses ready for work in the Harness Shop. Best for ages 7 and up. 

1 p.m. Laundry - Help do laundry 1914 style at the Martin House. Best for ages 5 and up. 

2 p.m. Optical Toys - Make an optical toy at the General Store. Best for ages 5 and up. 

2:30 p.m. Transportation Trivia – How much do you know about boats, planes, trains and automobiles? Come and find out! Suitable for ages 7 and up. 

3 p.m. Baseball - Play a game of baseball at the Martin Farm Field. Best for ages 5 and up. 

3:30 p.m. Steam - Meet Hazel in a new way and learn about the power of steam. Best for ages 5 and up. 

4 p.m. Barn Chores - Help do farm chores at the Bricker Barn. Best for all ages.

10 a.m. Scavenger Hunt - Calling all kids for a scavenger hunt at the General Store. Best for ages 5 and up. 

10:30 a.m. Cruisin’ Cars with LEGO - Discover what makes cars move and build one out of LEGO to test drive! Best for ages 4 and up. 

11 a.m. Crokinole - Play a game of crokinole at the Martin House. Best for ages 3 and up. 

11:30 a.m. Silent Film - Come watch a silent film and see what movies used to be like. Best for ages 5 and up. 

12 p.m. Ironing - Help do the ironing 1914 style at the Seibert House. Best for ages 7 and up. 

1 p.m. Leather Working - Help make luggage tags in the Harness Shop. Best for ages 7 and up. 

2 p.m. Egg Grading - Help gather and grade eggs at the Martin House. Best for ages 5 and up. 

2:30 p.m. Sounds Like History - Do you hear what I hear? Try to identify the sounds from the past. Best for ages 2 and up.
